The Family History Registry.com was born in an attempt: to help future to document prepare and protect themselves from possible inherited / hereditary diseases. Never before, had I realized how important it is to document medical history on one's family. It took me writing my own program and adding all my family's information including their health and medical problems in birth order to see what inherited / hereditary diseases were there. If I'd done this just six years earlier, we would have known my father was a prime candidate for colon cancer. Then he could have made his doctor aware of it, if only he would have known then. His doctor would have ordered the proper tests, that would have detected the cancer in plenty of time ! ! ! I believe that any and all information we can pass down to our children about past health problems will make a world of difference to our family's and future generations. As much as I'd like to blame this all on our genes, the hereditary factor, I can't.. But it does play a very large part in it.. We all need to start somewhere, we need to know what to watch out for, we need to prepare for the possibilities and hopefully prevent these diseases from occurring. If we can't stop the diseases, then we can surely catch them early enough if we have the knowledge ! Once you register all your family's medical illnesses in birth order, it'll be obvious to you what hereditary diseases run in your family... If you need proof to convince a loved one, Print it, and you'll have the proof you need to convince those stubborn loved ones just how important it is to have regular testing done.
